Techlog 2019.2 Now Available

Product Overview

The Techlog wellbore software platform has been continually developed for the last 19 years by Schlumberger in a wellbore-oriented technological center in Montpellier, France. As a result, customers around the globe have access to the latest version of a leading wellbore-centric platform that is faster, more user friendly, and more stable than ever before.

Key Highlights

Major focus for Techlog 2019.2 includes five new developments:

  • Techlog Ipsom workflow in AWI4 interface: This was enabled to have the ability to run the Techlog Ipsom module along with the rest of Techlog workflows. At the same time, major usability enhancements were implemented, including an option to preserve settings of current neural network. The look and feel from the previous module were preserved as much as possible.
  • A fully interactive symbols creation feature improves usability and flexibility. To support new symbols tools within different workflows like geology, sedimentology, etc., a new set with more than 1,000 high-quality symbols was included.
  • A simplified parameter picking tool for Techlog Quanti workflows: This includes a new solution to setup and manage parameters during petrophysical interpretation in AWI4 workflows in multiwell and multizone modes. This enhancement aims to simplify the process of best parameters identification for a group of well and zones.
  • A new module for normalization procedure: The focus of the solution is to improve the multiwell normalization procedure and simplify wells identification as calibration wells. It also provides an efficient way to measure quality of normalization results and then provides a fully interactive tool to adjust the results for individual wells in a single well mode. This release is currently a technical preview before being fully commercialized.
  • A redesigned and significantly updated help feature for Techlog Python: This release provides users with step-by-step examples to learn Techlog Python from a beginner to a very advanced level. It is now simple and fun to use Techlog Python.  About 400 new examples of Techlog Python codes with a full description was added to the previous 120 examples. All examples are now in an optimized copy-paste format which adds an option to embed them in user's workflows in seconds.

This new 2019.2 release of the Techlog platform includes major improvements in usability and productivity, such as a fully functional application workflow interface (AWI) plots in the Techlog Quanti module, enhanced well filtering capabilities, life cycle management of polygon objects, improved LogView headers, and default settings.

You can now customize and extend your workflows in the new Techlog Python 3 workspace. The new revamped Techlog Python AWI engine now provides an unprecedented performance boost especially when dealing with zones. Performance of multiwell histogram plots, zone editing, and Monte Carlo computation on porosity saturation methods has been greatly improved.

Techlog 2019.2 also offers binary compatibility with Techlog 2018 versions, so Ocean software development framework plug-in developers and users do not need to upgrade or recompile.

Within the Studio E&P knowledge platform, the 2019.2 version brings few usability enhancements as well as a first step to simplify conflicts with a new merge and overwrite option and an ability to share Studio platform server connections for Studio Manager users.

In Europe and North America, Techlog 2019.2 is now available in the DELFI cognitive E&P environment as part of the Petrotechnical Suite.

    • Default option filter for Data Table is “Contains” like for Studio in Petrel platform
    • Name is grayed out in Global Match Rules
    • Columns can now be extended in the Data Table

Petrophysics

  • 3DPV
    • Updated pixel inversion processing with enhanced resolution for Rt Scanner triaxial induction service
  • 3DPH
    • Automatic construction of local layer model for horizontal (HZ) sections using ROSC (Density array) and USC (PEF array) from EcoScope multifunction logging-while-drilling service or   adnVISION azimuthal density neutron service

Geology

  • Techlog Ipsom module available in AWI4 workflow with ability to save the seed.

Geomechanics

  • Calibration points can now be captured and used to calibrate WBS and 1D MEM
    • Default uncertainty per calibration type
    • UI comprises all calibration points in project
    • Remarks and comments for each calibration point
    • Families defined to match variable that is calibrated with the respective calibration type
    • Point dataset for each calibration type, with ID property.
  • Wellbore stability injection scenario calculation.
