CO2 Storage Simulation with Intersect >

Description

Reservoir simulation is a vital component of multi-disciplinary CO2 storage studies, as engineers need to study CO2 behavior over the lifetime of the project. This requires specialist features, as well as all the software functionality used for dynamic simulation of oil and gas fields.   This course introduces you to the basics of the reservoir simulation aspect of carbon capture sequestration (CCS) evaluation, including the physical phenomena and modeling approaches. It also demonstrates CCS evaluation method using a set of dynamic simulation options for CO2 storage with Intersect as the reservoir simulator.

Integrated Field Management workflows - Reservoir Coupling - RILS (Remote Instructor Led Series) >

Description

This is a Remote Instructor Led Series (RILS) training. The remote classroom delivery is a modality that takes advantage of the instructor led training content, while allowing the same content to be delivered remotely. All training sessions will be delivered online with no face-to-face classroom attendance.Integrated asset models are created by connecting together existing subsurface and surface simulation models. This can deliver numerous benefits such as better understanding and representation of production system constraints enabling better field planning, production forecasting and full field optimization.SLB technologies offer a modern method of connecting and controlling subsurface and surface models using INTERSECT Field Management (IXFM). IXFM offers unique capabilities to couple multiple INTERSECT reservoir models and multiple surface network models. All the coupled models can be controlled and actioned by Field Management (FM) thus allowing all the capabilities and benefits of FM to be applied to the Integrated Model. The workflow presented in this course is focused on reservoir coupling. INTERSECT can couple multiple reservoir simulations to enable balancing control, resource management, and reporting across several isolated reservoirs. Most of the existing Field Management capabilities are available even when coupling to more than one reservoir simulation. The course will be delivered in two (2) sessions lasting ~ four (4) hours each. An intensive agenda also implies homework after each session. Hence full-time commitment is expected from participants. Each student will need the following to attend:Windows-based PC*USB HeadsetInternet Access capable of 720HD video-streamingSecond monitor or tablet (highly recommended)Webcam (highly recommended)*Hands-on exercises will be performed using locally installed Petrel and INTERSECT software; hence client machine must satisfy min. requirements. Alternatively, practical sessions can be accessed through DELFI Cloud Environment (subject to availability).

Thus, when simulations are performed for the purpose of field development planning and optimization, it is highly advantageous for the simulation model to include the surface facilities as well as the reservoir. These facilities may consist of a network of flowlines from the wellheads joining at manifolds to form a gathering system and, for offshore fields, the risers that take the fluids up to the facilities on the platforms. Field Management has the capability to balance the wells in the reservoir model(s) with the coupled nodes in the surface network model(s).
