New Software Release

Techlog Production Logging 4.0 Now Available

Product overview

Unconventional reservoirs generally consist of many stages with several perforations, which increases run time for the zonal flow rate calculation in the Techlog Production Logging plug-in. Techlog Production Logging 4.0 improves the zonal flow rate calculation by performing 10-times faster than before, which is also improved for conventionals. For unconventionals it now takes minutes, not hours, and for conventionals, it now takes seconds, not minutes.

Release updates

Zonal flow rate calculation using the OLGA dynamic multiphase flow simulator has improved.

PIPESIM steady-state multiphase flow simulator version used for the well performance advisor (WPA) feature was upgraded from 2017.2 to 2018.1. WPA outputs are now easily accessible in various folders. Support to OpenField (a third-party tool) has been streamlined.

Added:

  • Net present value (NPV) calculator spreadsheet
  • Vendor-neutral data handling
  • Data preparation wizard to automatically handle all data preparation steps
  • Powerful data visualization capabilities
  • Interactive quality control and depth alignment
  • Comprehensive spinner calibration with automatic and manual control over thresholds and slopes
  • Apparent velocity computation from lab, in situ calibration, or automatic algorithm
  • Multisensor array tools (including FSI) supported along with display on cross section plots
  • Flexible data handling including stacking utilities
  • Extensive Schlumberger library of fluid correlations for PVT
  • Selective inflow profile to estimate productivity
  • Log response simulation capability
  • Built in, customizable report generator

Installation requirements

For Techlog 2018.1, 2018.2, and 2019.1, Production Logging 4.0 (as well as 3.0 and 3.1) is available in a 64-bit version and supports Windows 7 and Windows 10. WPA is available on Production Logging 4.0 with PIPESIM 2018.1

Techlog 2017.1 is only available with Production Logging 2.1

WPA is available on Production Logging 3.1 with PIPESIM 2017.2

Minimum and recommended hardware requirements are detailed in the Techlog Installation Guide 2018 and Techlog Installation Guide 2019.

Users

Techlog Production Logging 4.0 is suitable for geoscientists and engineers, including petrophysicists, geologists, reservoir engineers, and production engineers.

The plug-in allows users to integrate production logging data with other petrophysical and geological information in the Techlog wellbore software platform.
