New Software Release

PIPESIM 2015.2 and 2012.4 Now available

Product details

The PIPESIM steady-state multiphase flow simulator enables the design and diagnostics of oil and gas production systems—from reservoir to processing facility. The PIPESIM simulator is used to model well performance, conduct nodal analysis, design artificial lift systems, model pipeline networks and facilities, and develop field production plans.

The PIPESIM simulator leverages a variety of fluid property correlations, multiphase flow correlations, and inflow performance relationships to generate an accurate description of your production systems.

Release details

With the PIPESIM 2015.2 and 2012.4 release, Schlumberger continues its commitment to improve and innovate the way you work. The PIPESIM simulator combines best-in-class science with an unparalleled productivity environment to enable engineers to optimize production systems from the reservoir to the sales point.

PIPESIM 2015.2 is based on the next-generation PIPESIM User Interface. Also included with this release is PIPESIM 2012.4, which is an update of the legacy or “classic” user interface. Both versions use the same PIPESIM Calculation Engine which has been extensively validated and improved throughout its development since 1984.
PIPESIM 2015 is the fourth release of the 3rd Generation User Interface and has approximately 85% feature parity with the legacy PIPESIM User Interface (PIPESIM 2012.4). Notable exceptions include network optimization, wax deposition, rod pump design, local language support, OpenLink extensibility and integration with the IAM software.

PIPESIM 2012.4, which is currently integrated with a number of Schlumberger and Third Party products including the Avocet platform, the IAM software, HYSYS, UniSim and PetroSim, will continue to be used for applications leveraging these integration points. PIPESIM 2012.4 is also distributed with Field Planning Tool (FPT) for field planning workflows and DBR Solids for wax deposition calculations and will continue to be used to support a set of specific functionality not yet available in the new PIPESIM 2015.2 User Interface. PIPESIM 2012.4 will be the last major release of the “classic” user interface.
