Release details

Petrel 2014.8 delivers further improvements around usability, performance and stability and fixes in the Geophysics and Geology workflows.

All versions of Petrel 2014 will work with all versions of Studio 2014. Please see the Petrel and Studio Release Notes and the What’s New Guide for further details.

Petrel platform updates

As part of our ongoing commitment to standardization and quality of service, the Petrel platform commenced delivery of a regular structured update process. Since September 2013, the Petrel platform bimonthly updates have delivered new features and improvements for stability, performance, and reliability. Our quality focus and commitment to efficient and predictable access to new capabilities will continue, allowing you to proactively plan your deployment procedure.

The Ocean Store currently supports 120 commercial plug-ins for Petrel 2014 in the areas of geophysics, geology, petrophysics, reservoir modeling, reservoir engineering, drilling, production, and information management. Ocean plug-ins can be used with all Petrel platform updates. Schlumberger works closely with many software vendors to bring additional technologies to the Petrel platform.
