New Software Release

GeoX 2019.2 Now Available

Saturday, 06 July 2019

Product overview

GeoX exploration risk, resource, and value assessment software provides scalable, easy-to-use decision support for exploration projects and portfolios. The analytical foundation of the GeoX software is a common stochastic modeling framework that enables you to perform consistent, unbiased, and accurate assessments of your exploration opportunities in any risk scenario. Optimal exploration decisions are provided through a common database, enabling data sharing across projects and disciplines. Effective management of the exploration portfolio is enabled through an integrated value assessment and map-based play-to-prospect assessment workflows.

Release highlights

GeoX Prospect

  • An option to create, trial by trial, different conformable bed group combinations has been added to enable the modeling of scenarios when you have conformable reservoirs that may or may not be in communication. You can define the modeling of these groups by the seal and trap risk for each segment. If either factor fails, the segment will share contact with the segment above in the bed group.
  • An intermediate results section has been added to the prospect analysis result pages to simplify the review and quality assurance of your prospect.
  • A new status option, ‘Working version,’ has been added to simplify the way you find and monitor the most relevant analysis on the ‘Test’ status if you have multiple versions of your analysis, such as various scenarios or stages in the assessment process.
  • The leak connection tables’ usability has been improved. You can now update the segment contacts without setting up the leak connections again. A warning appears in the verification page if the leak connection table is not up to date with the segment contacts.

GeoX Spatial Portfolio Reporting ESRI

  • The GeoX software webserver now supports Windows authentication, in addition to the Schlumberger authentication. This provides an alternative method for authentication when accessing the GeoX software to store outline of your assessment objects using the ESRI GeoX Spatial Portfolio Reporting add-in.
  • Petrel Exploration Geology 2019.2 also provides supports for Windows authentication when accessing the Save outlines to the GeoX software.

GeoX Across tools

  • The cross plot functionality in the trial browser has been enhanced. You can now scale plot points with a third parameter. When viewing different trial groups, you can lock the cross plot scale to the full trail set scale, and the selected trial group plots are colored differently. Further, when clicking through various ranked trials, the selected trial will be highlighted red in the cross plot.
