OMNI 3D 2022 Now Available

Friday, 16 December 2022

Product details

OMNI 3D seismic survey design software is the industry standard for seismic survey design and modeling. Plan, execute, and analyze land, marine, transition zone, vertical seismic profile (VSP), and multicomponent surveys. The intuitive interface and versatile multi-project handling capability of the software enable users to quickly and effectively analyze and monitor their seismic acquisition projects. OMNI 3D 2022 delivers a range of enhancements and improvements related to data import and export, survey design, modeling capabilities, usability, productivity, and reliability.

The software is available in two modules:

  • OMNI 3D Layout is used for geometry design, QC, analysis, and reporting as well as 2D ray modeling and target model building and analysis.
  • OMNI 3D Workshop contains all OMNI 3D functionality, from geometry design to QC and adds advanced analyses and 3D model building and analysis.

Release details

  • New flexible model streamer configurations:
    • New variable hydrophone spacing list lets users define a pattern to vary the hydrophone interval along the cable.
    • New variable streamer spacing list lets users define a pattern to vary the spacing between cables.
  • Full support for import and export of OGP P1/11 format for land and streamer objects
  • P1/11 import of relational surveys (Surveys Land or OBC) now creates new scripts for different field tape numbers (e.g., when Field 4 of a P1/11 X1,0 changes, OMNI creates a new script during import)
  • Relational surveys fully replicated (including multiple scripts) within one portable P1/11 formatted file. P1/11 exports encode multiple scripts as different tape numbers
  • Numerous SPS export enhancements:
    • SPS exporter can now create separate source and receiver files for each line
    • Separate relational X files can be created for each script when exporting from the survey using the checkbox “create X file for each script”
    • Filenames can be trimmed to alphanumeric characters
    • Export of relational files now faster when the increment between station names is greater than 1
    • Optional integer fields now written according to SPS specifications as integers with no decimal places (static correction, datum, uphole time, day, time)
    • Field point depth now written in 4-digit integer format
    • SPS save routine preserves leading zeros during export of optional fields when using a numeric attribute (e.g., exporting time fields of the form HHMMSS)
  • Improved SEG P1 saving, to ensure that latitude and longitude columns will not overwrite neighboring columns
  • Improved script spreadsheet editing of receiver patches for individual and multiple shot events
  • Supports creation of 3D grid files from multiple LAS lidar datasets
  • Supports merging of multiple georeferenced image files into a single image
  • Users can now specify dimensions of an output image from the Re-Project and Add Image File operations
  • Supports import of TIFF files larger than 2 GB
  • Improved recovery of malformed project database files
  • 3D grid interactive reflection analysis feature so users can specify shot and receiver elevations; enables reflection ray tracing from any 3D shot location to a specified receiver elevation (uses shot and receiver elevations during ray tracing)
  • Exports objects even when the objects visibility is turned off in the project tree (survey, script, shot, receiver, and SPS, P1/90, P1/11, etc.)
  • New Edit View styling improvements, including
    • draw horizontal and vertical guidelines across the map
    • save Edit View settings with the project file (to maintain settings when a project is reopened)
    • include Edit View settings in the OMNI World file (OWD)
  • More styling options added for objects including obstacles, detours, boundaries, and shapefile outlines
  • New minimum fold workflow generates maps to show which bins meet fold requirements for numerous offset ranges; the workflow generates fold-only analyses, summary report text files, and grid displays
  • Numerous math operations added to grid math under the Grids folder
  • Improved crash reporting; Send Error Report Now feature can include a dump file that is stored in the Microsoft® Windows® user temp directory.

Users

The product is suitable for geologists and geophysicists and those involved in acquisition, survey design, and modeling.
