Schlumberger is pleased to announce a reseller agreement with XtremeGeo for Flatirons™    

Flatirons™ is the leading purpose-built application to generate refraction statics solutions. With integration of all the necessary tools and QC’s into a single application, geophysicists can rapidly iterate the highest-quality solution in the minimum amount of time. Flatirons™ also supports the large data volumes associated with modern acquisition systems, without effecting performance.

Flatirons™ brings the entire statics solution workflow into a highly interactive environment—from geometry QC through first-break picking, derivation of a refraction statics solution, and subsequent model QC. This leads to faster solution creation, especially in difficult data areas.

The existing functionality inside of the Omega* geophysical data processing platform will continue to allow you to generate a high-fidelity statics model, due to the quality of the first-break picking and refraction statics algorithms. However, most of the workflow is executed in the batch environment, which limits the ability of the geophysicist to quickly modify parameters and run what-if scenario analysis.

Currently, Flatirons™ is a stand-alone application, independent of the Omega platform. Later this year, an exclusive Schlumberger version of Flatirons™ will be released. This new version will significantly enhance the capabilities of the application, by incorporating the first-break picking algorithms from the Omega platform, and the cross-application workflow will be streamlined with the ability to read and write Omega’s internal data format (DIO). Companies purchasing this stand-alone application as part of our reseller agreement will be entitled to upgrade to the exclusive Schlumberger version when it is released.
