Key release features

The key usability and technology enhancements of Omega 2022.1 include the following:

Geophysical enhancements

Deblending

  • New seismic function module (SFM) that provides an efficient approach to deblending sources acquired with a simultaneous source acquisition scheme, applicable for any geometry in land, marine, and ocean bottom seismic (OBS)

OVT binning

  • New SFM that provides a simplified workflow to facilitate appropriate hexagonal binning and QC in the case of sparse ocean bottom node (OBN) acquisition

Internal Scattering Interbed Multiple Prediction (ISIMP)

  • New 2D option for Internal Scattering Interbed Multiple Prediction (ISIMP) which can model more complex travel paths than 1D or 1.5D ISIMP options

GSMP

  • Enhancements to general surface multiple prediction (GSMP), including the addition of Obliquity Factor parameterization and improvements in aperture naming scheme

VISTA IVA

  • Many significant improvements in efficiency and functionality for the VISTA IVA 2022 application, including new option to automatically generate on-the-fly brute stack updates

Usability and functionality updates

  • Improved usability and functionality for the SeisFlow, SeisView 2D seismic data viewer and analysis software, Printout Viewer, and Multiple Attribute Display applications
    PSI
  • Prestack Seismic Interpretation (PSI) plug-in for the Petrel E&P software platform has also been updated with the Omega 2022.1 release. Key bug fixes provide improvements in prestack data synchronization, Prestack Window display, and Prestack Mixer Efficiency.

Efficiency updates to Seismic Function Modules (SFMs)

  • The following SFMs have been updated to improve efficiencies and impact TAT
                  IRREGULAR_INTERP_AA (MPFI), GENERAL_RADON, and DISK_TO_TAPE.

  • Improved functionality for many seismic function modules includes MOVEOUT, SIMULT_WV_COORD_EST, ROTATE_3C_APPLY, OUTPUT_SEGY.
