API (Advanced Programming Interface)

OFM API allows third-party developers to extend the OFM software in controlled ways. The two key areas of extensibility are OFM Functions and OFM Analyses. A plug-in can leverage the OFM software and the .NET framework to provide calculations and visualizations that are not currently available in the application. There are two types of plug-ins:

Function plug-ins present to the OFM software in the same way that built-in system functions do, for use in calculations. Plug-in functions accept arguments and return results. Both arguments and results may be static or time-dependent.
Analysis plug-ins present to the OFM software in the same way as built-in analyses, such as plots and reports. Analysis plug-ins may leverage the OFM software content area, the ribbon, the property panel, and the analysis panel.
