Product details

Malcom interactive fluid characterization software is dedicated to the evaluation of static, compositional data generated in analytical streams from PVT to geochemistry. Processing and interpretation can be automated through an accessible graphical programing language and performed within customized or integrated workflows. The Malcom geochemistry module allows experts as well as non-expert geoscientists and engineers to evaluate and interpret petroleum fluids properties, such as source, maturity, fluid correlations, and in-reservoir processes.

Malcom software provides the following:

  • Best in class tools to efficiently visualize and process gas chromatography data.
  • Comprehensive techniques for automated manipulation of multiple samples simultaneously providing fast and reliable analysis of compositional fluid data and calculation of parameters which are key to reservoir fluid descriptions.
  • Dedicated Geochemical Data Interpretation module for geochemists.
  • Solutions for reservoir engineering based on geochemical oil fingerprinting, such as reservoir connectivity assessment and production allocation.
  • A full suite of statistical tools for chemometrics.
  • “Blueprint” feature to digitize data and create interpretative overlays from new and heritage datasets.

Suitable for

Malcom software is dedicated tool designed to simplify data management and interpretation for geochemists, geologists and reservoir engineers performing asset evaluations from exploration through development and production. Malcom covers the needs of geoscientists, who typically use compositional analysis associated with PVT analyses, gas data, source rock evaluation and correlation, and advanced geochemical techniques such as whole oil, biomarker, and diamondoid analysis. Petroleum system modeling and production monitoring are also supported by dedicated tools. Malcom can also be used in various contexts for efficient and accurate interpretation of gas chromatography, source rock, isotopes and gas data.
