Key release updates

Date-ordered table input for group injection and production definition

The new GTABPROD and GTABINJE keywords have been added to both Eclipse 100 (E100) and Eclipse 300 (E300) to allow concise specification of all group production and injection information in single keywords, with rows defined by their date of application. This is an alternative to the existing GCONPROD and GCONINJE keywords, which must be specified multiple times throughout the scheduling data.

Improvements to new energies workflows

Improvements have been made to support cases with component solubility in water defined by CO2SOL and H2SSOL keywords. Firstly, the default water density calculation now uses the Ezrokhi's method, a standard in such cases. Solubility calculations now employ exponential expansion for more precise interpolations of formation volume factor and viscosity.

Enhanced reporting for summary keywords

Several enhancements have been made to line plot reporting in this version:

  • The well name can now be defaulted for summary keywords starting with S, to produce output for all multi-segment wells.
  • In E300, the group name can now be defaulted for group summary keywords which take a component number to produce output for all groups.

New and improved functionality
Additional programs

  • RTE 2025.1 now supports item 6 of the LOAD keyword. If this is present in a parallel fast restart dataset—including parallel fast restart reservoir coupling slaves—it is not necessary to supply the number of processes to eclrun.
  • The $extract utility has been improved to support the current format of SMSPEC file headers.

For the Eclipse 100 simulator

  • The ACTIONX keyword has been extended to support the REFINE keyword (so keywords can be specified for local gridblocks), and transmissibility multipliers for global and local grid blocks.
  • Production and injection rate summary output for keywords starting with C and LC now only reports positive values. Negative values are reported as 0.

For the Eclipse 300 simulator

  • The default used for the datum depth when neither the DATUM nor EQUIL keywords are present in a deck is now 0. This is compatible with both Eclipse 100 and the Intersect™ reservoir simulator.
  • Table checking has been improved. TEMPVD and ZMFVD tables can now have negative depths, but other columns can only have positive values. Completely empty TVDP tables are now identified. Table errors in parallel runs are now reported only once .
  • Injection and production group targets and limits of less than 10–6 will now be adhered to rather than treated as no target/limit. This is compatible with both Eclipse 100 and Intersect simulator.
  • The WGRA control mode can now be used in the GCONINJE and GTABINJE keywords.
  • Wet gas historical rate and total production summary output has been improved for consistency with other historical rate and production output.
  • The implementation of the Carmen-Kozeny rock compression transmissibility multiplier option has been made more robust.
