With the Drillbench 2016.1 release, the technology has been streamlined to a suite of three individual offerings that represent the main stages of well control: primary, secondary, and tertiary.
The Blowout Control module is now built upon the latest OLGA engine, which brings transient non-Newtonian three-phase modeling to deliver a unique level of sophistication and resolution to our drilling engineering software. Other important updates include a major improvement of the mud gas separator functionality in the Dynamic Well Control module and an upgrade of the dual-gradient drilling simulation feature in the Dynamic Hydraulics module.
The Blowout Control module is now only offered as a complete module with the OLGA engine embedded. The Dynamic Well Control license has been extended to include underbalanced drilling and the licence for the Rigsite Kick module to provide both planning and operational modes. The Rigsite Kick module is also offered as a standalone license to provide an entry-level application.
The new release also includes updated documentation and sample files, which are described along with all the improvements in the release documentation.
