Rafael Guzmán is a Petroleum Engineering graduated from the University of America, in Bogota. He also holds a Ph.D. and a master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering with emphasis in Mathematics from Stanford University.
Dr. Guzmán has more than 27 years of experience in the oi and gas industry. Prior to his appointment as President of Hocol, Dr. Guzmán worked for Ecopetrol, ENI in Italy, Ecuador, Venezuela and the UK and BP in Colombia, where he held management and leadership positions, both in operations and field development.
Dr. Guzmán was appointed President of Hocol in March 2019. His most recent achievements include the 30% growth of Hocol through successful exploration and development and the acquisition of the 43% of participation in the Guajira Association Contract in northern Colombia from Chevron and the incorporation of nine new exploration blocks.
