New Software Release

Omega 2013.1 patch 33 Now available

Product details

Omega seismic data processing software is a flexible, scalable system that allows for processing and imaging on a single workstation or massive compute clusters, or from a single 2D line to an immense 3D seismic survey.

Omega software accurately and efficiently processes the following:

    • Land, marine, and transition zone data
    • Time and depth data
    • 2D, 3D, and 4D surveys
    • Isotropic and anisotropic (TTI and VTI) velocity fields
    • Multicomponent data
    • Reservoir to basin scale projects

Release details

This update concerns the use of AVO_ANGLE_DECOMP.

Migrated or moveout-corrected Common Image Point (CIP) or Common Merge Point (CMP)gathers are decomposed into gathers of common incidence angle traces. This is the initial step for AVO analysis. Two files containing dip field information can be input to compute the exact incidence angle at a given time. It is essential to know the dip at a given time in order to accurately calculate the angle of incidence. The assumption of zero dip leads to errors in calculating the angle of incidence.
