Thursday, 04 February 2016

Product details

IAM field development planning and operations software provides model-based production and asset management for field development, operation planning, and on-demand optimization solutions for assets. IAM software integrates reservoir, production, process, and business management simulation models to enable advanced control and optimization. IAM software delivers the ability to graphically build well management and reservoir group controls, along with the inclusion of downstream process facility models and field-wide economics.

Release details

IAM software continues to build the functionality and versatility of field development planning and operations. The IAM software’s integration capabilities have been expanded to enable coupling with material balance model to achieve an integrated solution with simplified reservoir models and steady-state well/network model.  This allows for a quick screening and intelligent decision making in field development planning and flow assurance studies. The OLGA simulator coupling now handles ‘Bidirectional Flow’ in ECLIPSE Blackoil and ‘Thermal Coupling’ of ‘Bottom Hole Temperature’ with ECLIPSE Compositional. The Production Curve Adapter now includes cumulative based production curves. The optimizer has been enhanced to capture uncertainty in the reservoir (for Petrel platform reservoir realizations) and network. Further enhancements have been made in this release to support Asset Optimization solutions using "Live Asset Models".

Suitable for

IAM software is for engineering users within oil and gas organizations. Asset technology or engineering managers are often the first to recognize the benefit of a full-field model built by the collaborative efforts of their multidisciplinary teams.

IAM software is useful for any new or existing large oil and gas development projects, but it may be crucial for assets where there are significant interdependencies between multiple fields or multiple production domain silos (reservoir, network, and process facilities) such as in heavy oil assets, assets with limited processing capabilities, or aging assets where the surface gathering network and facilities are now suboptimal because production rates have fallen over time.

IAM software applications include

  • front end engineering and design (FEED) studies
  • reservoir coupling
  • gas balancing
  • pipeline network debottlenecking
  • artificial lift evaluation and optimization
  • compressor sizing
  • separator design
  • gas-recovery optimization
  • development drilling program planning
  • field operations management

IAM software is also a key foundation for Asset Optimization.
