ECLIPSE 2018.1 development has been focused on improvement of existing functionalities specifically in two areas: performance and usability. For performance, new improvements around licensing to handle Block Parallel license and Reservoir Coupling has been created allowing these two options to work at the same time. This gives users the ability to run multiple models connected, while taking advantage of the Block Parallel license to reduce runtime. Another important aspect of performance is the new summary that allows to report the waiting time between domain partitions when running a parallel simulation. This feature will help identify areas or domains that might cause delay on the overall simulation runtime, so you can troubleshoot different aspects of the simulation, e.g. the user can redefine the partitions based on the waiting time during the simulation.

On the usability side, ECLIPSE 2018 offers the capacity to define well connection factor multipliers via User-Defined-Argument (UDA). This allows a more flexible and dynamic update of the connection transmissibility empowering users to perform advanced and customized workflows, damage due to water influx at connection level.
